I became a criminal defense lawyer because I hate injustice. I have experienced too much of it in my own life, and I know what it feels like. Many prosecutors get into criminal defense to make more money. Their hearts aren't in it. They still refer to the accused as "those people." Not me. I don't go to trial to "protect my client's rights" I go to save their lives. I go to win. In 1996 I attended my first trial practice college in Macon, Georgia, the National Crimianl Defense College. After that I attended the Western Trial Advocacy Institute in 2001. In 2003 I was selected along with 49 other lawyers from around the country to attend Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyer's College. This is a three week program held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This experience gave me the ability to connect with clients, witnesses and most importantly juries. I continue to spend 2-3 weeks a year traveling and training with great trial lawyers around the country.

There is no greater responsibility than to have a person's life in your hands. I consider the defense a "calling." I have tried over 115 jury trials for the defense. I have the experience, the training, and the judgement to help you.

First and foremost, I take the time to listen to my clients, because I believe that you cannot properly represent someone in any matter without understanding who they are and the details of their individual case. Where some attorneys focus on trying to pigeonhole their clients into the mold of other cases that they have already prepared and tried, I hear my clients individual story and then apply the law to get them justice. I have successfully helped clients in a wide variety of areas, including The Michigan Consumer Protection Act, The Pricing and Advertising Act, The Fair Debt Collection Act, Premises Liability, Products Liability, Labor & Employment Law, and Fraud. If you have been wronged by a big company and need someone in your corner, let me help you..

I received my law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While a student, the Law Review selected me for membership, and I also completed the rigorous requirements to attain a Certificate of Advanced Study in Civil Litigation. I graduated magna cum laude, at the top of my Law School class, and was accepted into the prestigious Order of the Coif. To hone my skills, from 2005 to 2008, I worked for Steptoe & Johnson, a civil litigation firm that employs more than two hundred attorneys. I then attained a position with the State of Michigan Court of Appeals, where I drafted opinions on appellate cases.
